Brace yourself, this is a good one. It's also very long.
Two amazing days of beauty, family, fun, happiness, a snake, a rain storm, frisbees, finger puppets, bonfires, horses - big and miniature and a zebra... yes a freaking zebra!
Melissa found us a few months ago through the Fearless Photographers website and we are so happy she did. We were immediately thrilled by her "family farm with a zebra" and that she and Daniel wanted to do a day after session with the zebra and other animals.
Kristiaan and I had a mini engagement session with Melissa and Daniel and we hit it off nicely. However we didnt realize that the same connection would be had with their families. From the first moments I walked into the room where Daniel was getting ready I felt like my family members were surrounding me. Light hearted, good humored, open, pleasant and just easy to talk to. When we first met Melissa's side, her mom and relatives did nothing but shower us with kind words. It was a beautiful start of things to come. Well, maybe except for the torrential rain storm that moved the ceremony from outside to in. Still it made for some lovely imagery and lasting memories.
There was so much to see and experience from this wedding however the most memorable for us was unexpected. It was the smiles coming from Melissa and Daniel when they are together and being themselves. There is just something powerful there that not even Zipper the zebra can beat :)
