Natalie & Chris | Anniversary session

Absolutely love when things work out! Love it even more when a couple you photograph becomes good friends. We briefly met Natalie and Chris as guests from another wedding. Two years later they reached out to us for an Anniversary shoot. After some time planning, we ended up at the beautiful Anderson House and Kennedy Center.  Though some of their images are elegant and stoic the session was very casual. We had great conversation, big laughs and got to meet their dog Luna! For those of you who didn't know, our dog's name is also Luna. Since their shoot, we've become good friends and looking forward to more fun hangouts.

Zehra + Reza | Cherry blossoms

We've know Zehra and Reza for  several years now. Zehra was one of the first people I photographed in studio and one of her beauty shots are still in my all time favorites. We also attended their wedding as a guests and it may have been our first wedding where we weren't photographers! 

Fast forward many years and many good times and we finally get a chance to photograph them. This is something we've been trying to plan for well over a year but little things like bad weather, traveling or what-have-you got in the way.

Zehra wanted blossoms and we wanted blossoms, but we didnt want the insane crowds of DC. So instead we visited a quite neighbor during the week and took advantage of its peace and calm. While it rained on us a bit it did not ruin out shoot.

Looking back and moving forward

This was an amazing year for Kristiaan and me. Really amazing, but also a challenging year, in a good way. We grew in many ways, as photographers, a couple and as individuals. From our life changing Foundation Workshop experience to personal hurdles and accomplishments we would not be where we are without you, our inspiring and incredible clients, couples, friends and family. Moving forward there are big changes coming for us in 2015 and we're excited that you will be part of it!
