If we could build the perfect wedding to photograph, the list would look something like this…
The Essentials:
A happy couple that enjoys every moment of their wedding day
An amazing group of friends and family
A day filled with emotions ranging from happy tears to big laughter
The Bonuses:
Great light
An interesting or beautiful location
Plenty of time for portraits
Booty shaking music
Delicious food
Cory and Elizabeth had everything on this list… in spades. This was the perfect way to begin our 2015 wedding season.
The two share a love for travel, photography, and good food so there was never really any choice about becoming friends with them.
Cory is typically thoughtful and quiet, while Elizabeth is chatty and warm. On their wedding day, surrounded by an intimate group of friends and family, and clearly in love with his girl, Cory wore his heart firmly on his sleeve. He was openly filled with joy and emotion throughout the day and it’s such an honor to have captured that for them.
It was freezing enough to snow and windy too, but they claimed to enjoy the extensive amount of time we spent making portraits outdoors, even in the stinky warehouse with dead rats lying around. We couldn’t ask for better people to spend a day with. They gave us a new respect for the beauty of a kiss on the cheek. They are pretty adorable and that makes us pretty happy.
Woodberry Kitchen was spectacular from appetizers on through dessert. If you’ve never eaten there, it’s definitely worth a trip. Their incredibly talented band, Bosley, was really fun and different… not your typical wedding band. Their officiant, Melody, has such a warm spirit. Their ceremony was beautiful, personal, and genuine. These guys put together a true dream team of wedding vendors. When can we do this again?!
Pongezi! (That’s ‘congratulations’ in Swahili…. for Cory’s benefit)
