From our wonderful bride Angie:
It was a beautiful and not too cold winter afternoon. We had snow flurries all morning. Both the church and the reception venue were historic locations walking distance from each other in a small town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The bridesmaids wore lilac colored Amsale dresses and the bride wore a simple, yet elegant dress made by Judd Waddell. The groomsmen wore classy grey tuxedos. The flower arrangements were made by a local florist who grows her own flowers locally on a 36 acre farm.
Joey and I kept our vision simple. We wanted to get married! Everything else was just a bonus. We were so lucky to find amazing vendors and pretty much let them do their thing. From the wedding coordinator at the Tidewater, to the florist, the cake baker, and the photographers, we were working with incredibly talented artists. Joey and I were also so fortunate to have his sister, Annie--a recent graduate from SCAD, lead the effort with our invitations, programs, and seating charts. We had the Dean of our new church together and the Dean from Angie's church she had gone to in Laurel perform the ceremony together. They performed an absolutely beautiful ceremony. The whole day could not have gone more perfectly. We found ourselves surrounded by people we love, in a beautiful setting, celebrating a wedding that we felt could not come soon enough!
Genuine thanks to Kristiaan and Lionel for everything. They did beautiful work and were among the most fun guests at the reception :)

There are so many wonderful things that can be said about Luz & Lance! We met them a little over a year ago through my mother/salsa community and instantly became friends. We photographed them two times before their wedding, once here, then here and their outwardly love for each other was palpable. This January in Puerto Rico we had the wonderful opportunity to meet and spend 4 days with their equally amazing families. As an added bonus, from the time we met them, their friends became our friends so the wedding felt very intimate for us. Honestly it felt just like our wedding - non-stop happiness and happy crying seemed to be the common theme. Being from Puerto Rico, Luz obviously had strong ties to the area and with the help of her loving and generous mother, they chose Hacienda Siesta Alegre for their ceremony and reception. Everything was perfect and the day was filled with happiness and a beautiful energy. Lance's vows may have been my all time favorite, ever! There wasnt a dry eye in the crowd and both Kristiaan and I found ourselves crying behind our cameras - simply amazing. There were even a surprise band and carnival dancers that really got the crowd moving.
The day after the wedding we photographed them in Old San Juan before making our way across the island to Cabo Rojo before rushing them back to the airport for their honeymoon journey.

We were lucky to have a nice warm day in March and had a great time hanging out with Colby and Bruce. They have such great energy and amazing connection, it made our jobs sooo easy. I really enjoyed the variety of images we were able able to capture with them!
