First new post of 2017, so Happy New Year to everyone checking it out!

Though this wedding was from 2016 it feels like a great start for 2017. In a good way, it was difficult choosing favorites images for this post because it was FULL of great expressions and interesting compositions. As I went back and forth deciding on moments, I kept thinking how everyone's wedding should feel like this. Sharon and Trieu had an amazing day despite the heat and severe thunderstorm that made the day a bit more challenging. You can see in people's faces how much they had fun and enjoyed celebrating w/ Sharon and Trieu. Just another reason we love our job so much.

In case you were wondering, light sabers were Trieu's groomsmen gift.

Stephanie & Jesse | Westin Dulles Wedding

The image above means everything to us. It was one of those moments that reminded us why we love our jobs and are thankful for the opportunity we have to document weddings for our couples.

Aside from the bit of rain that forced the ceremony indoors, their day was full of good energy, emotion and beauty. It also was very relaxed and tons of fun. Stephanie and Jesse are very easy going and have a great sense of humor. Not to mention we watch all the same shows. Though we had only hung out with them two times before the wedding we felt like close friends. When we arrived at the wedding we were warmly welcomed by bridal party, family and guests alike. It made for such an intimate day that was such a pleasure for us to be part.

Afsaneh + Zahid | Womens of the Arts Museum

I'm going to just put it out there and say we LOVE Persian weddings! Afsaneh and Zahid's wedding was our third one and they've all been equally meaningful, inclusive, emotional and plain ole fun.

It happened to be (officially) the hottest day of year with a heat index of 114 degrees but we were fortunate to only be outside for a few minutes. The day began at the beautiful Marriott Marquis where it was obvious A+Z had the best support group as their family and guests traveled from all over the world for their special day. This is also where they had their first look. We then whisked over the The National Portrait Gallery for... portraits! Our last stop was for the ceremony and reception at The National Museum of Womens in the Arts.

Megan + Patrick | W Hotel Wedding

A critical element of what matters to us as wedding photographers are the people. Family and friends, the ones who support and celebrate with you on your wedding day, make it amazing. Megan and Patrick had that, and were lucky enough to have an amazing venue and perfect weather especially for an August day. From the moment we arrived it was evident who the parents were - in a very good way! Both set of parents we abundantly happy, caring, helpful and very integral to mood and progression of the day. We felt blessed to be the ones to capture it and loved everything from the beauty to emotion to humor that their day offered.
