It was July, it was hot, it rained, there were two ceremonies, The Simpsons theme made an appearance, there was a lot of laughing, a bit of crying, it was FUN, it was beautiful, there was silliness, it was REAL, there were serenades, there was a kilt and a smoke bomb and everyone danced their hearts out [including us]. New friends for life!

Nate + Amy | Wedding at Restaurant at Patowmack Farm

Nate and Amy expressed to me that they wanted to keep things very simple for their wedding. While they wanted it to be fully documented through images they simply wanted to enjoy their quiet and intimate day with their closest friends and family. The day started at their home for getting ready where they had their first look, then after a super sweet set of portraits, we headed to The Restaurant as Patowmack Farms for ceremony and brunch reception. Immediately following the wedding I was filled with such happy and warm vibes from the collective energy of their family and friends. It was truly a magical day.

Magda & Joe - Purceville, Va Wedding

Magda and Joe were married on a gorgeous family farm on one of the few beautiful days we had this Summer.  Their close-knit group warmly welcomed us and shared the full range of laughter, tears, and love, which we are so passionate about documenting.  Though exhausted at the end of the day, we could not resist staying a while to dance at their after-party, poolside with an incredible DJ - Chris Burns.

Emma & John | Dumbarton House wedding

What a couple and what a wedding!!

Its rare that Kristiaan and I are around the day that a couple meets, but in Emma and Johns case we witnessed their first meeting at Emma's sisters wedding back in 2013. So we were beyond thrilled when they contacted us to photograph their wedding. This was the 4th wedding in this group of friends we've photographed so it truly felt like family.

We knew what we were in for great moments, happy people, great connections and fun dancing. We got all of that and more, plus working with one of our favorite planners of all time, Kristen of Kelley Cannon Events as well as a dream team of other vendors.
